A huge congratulations to Emma and Cameron who competed today in the Middle School Spelling Bee! It was a tough challenge with Emma coming 2nd and Cameron coming 3rd!Cameron Says - I was really nervous. We had to spell really hard words like scientist and knight.
Emma Says - We had to write our answer on a little whiteboard and when Miss Hammond said "Stop" we had to turn our boards around. Mrs Wihongi then came along and gave us a teddy bear if it was wrong in the first round. If you got 2 teddies you were out! In the second round the first person to collect 5 bears for getting the words right won. I had to spell word like ache, knight and wardrobe . They were hard and got some wrong. 
WOW! We are so proud of you two! You out spelled our class and then you competed against each other to win the whole school title. Those words were hard! Even Whaea Sandra had trouble spelling 'lightening' and 'ache'. Mrs Pye had trouble thinking of a sentence for 'occupy'! I honour the virtues of excellence, diligence and perserverence that you showed.
